Pat Cadigan is an American-born writer currently living in London. Cadigan has been connected especially to the cyberpunk movement — she has often been called ”the queen of cyberpunk” — but she has been writing science fiction, horror, and various combinations of the two for more than thirty years. A typical theme in her books is the effect of technology on humans. In addition to her own literary work, Cadigan has edited magazines and anthologies, taught writing, and worked actively for science fiction and fandom by organizing readings and charity events.
Cadigan has written a dozen books, about a hundred short stories, and numerous essays. She has been nominated for the Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy, and Bram Stoker Awards, and her novels Synners and Fools have won the Arthur C. Clarke Award.
